NO PARKING ZONES:

Parking in Mandeville Canyon and its public side streets is Highly Restricted due to our narrow roads and there are NO Parking on Private Streets.  The permission of a homeowner is required to park on Private streets.

Homeowners who entertain and host parties on streets with restrictive parking must make arrangements for their guests and visitors to park on their own properties.  If you are planning to have a party, please inform your neighbors of the date and time so they are not unnecessarily inconvenienced by excessive parking, noise or commotion.  In addition, be sure neighbors' driveways are not blocked by cars.  Be advised that if your guests park on a NO PARKING ZONE they will be cited unless you request a Temporary Parking Exemption Permit from the LADOT.  This includes Mandeville Canyon, Lower Westridge Road, and other No Parking Zones within our community.

To obtain a Temporary Parking Exemption Permit call or fax the LADOT Dept of Transportation Western Division Office.  They can be reached at 310-575-8138 or by FAX 310-575-8143 and are open Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.  They require 48-72 hours to turn these permits around.  After your application is processed, you will receive a letter authorizing temporary parking which will also be sent to Parking Enforcement.  This letter can be copied and affixed to the windshields of your guests' vehicles.

If neighbors become inconvenienced by excessive and illegal parking in NO PARKING zones they should contact Parking Enforcement @ 213-485-4184. This is the LADOT agency that will ticket cars that are illegally parked or abandoned.  They are open 24 hours a day.  Do not call the police to ticket cars.

Stray Dogs & Leash Law:

Unleashed dogs frighten people and threaten the safety of some homeowners and their pets.  Some residents are afraid to take their infants on walks while others are afraid to jog because of unleashed dogs. Please remember that there is a leash law and legal liability for the owner of a dog that harms another dog or person. Help keep our canyon tranquil and beautiful by controlling your pets. The city’s leash law requires that every dog must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long, held by a competent person, when off owner’s premises. If you encounter any problems with unleashed dogs, call Animal Regulation, West Los Angeles at (888) 452-7381, ext. 144. The Division is open Tuesday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barking Dog Problems:

If you experience a barking dog that constitutes an annoyance, you must submit a written complaint to the West Los Angeles Animal Care and Control Center at 11950 Missouri Avenue, LA, CA 90025. The complaint must include your name, address with zip code, and telephone number, as well as the address of the barking dog and a description of the problem. The Department will contact the dog owner and request compliance with regulations. If the barking does not stop, you must submit a second complaint by telephone within 15 days after the first complaint. If the problem continues, the issue will be resolved through mediation by the Department of Animal Control or by Dispute Resolution Services. The final stage is an Administrative Hearing. To listen to recorded information or submit the telephonic complaint mentioned above, dial (888) 452-7381.
